All found in the Gulf of Nicoya; from Port of Puntarenas the Guayabo Islands are 8 km south, the Negritos Islands are 16.5 fm south and
Pájaros Island is 13 km northwest. All are accessible by boat fom Puntarenas.

Pájaros Island can be seen from Costa de
Pájaros. The four islands are refuges for marine birds, especially pelicans, sea snipes, laughing gulls and brown boobies.

Guayabo Island is over 50 meters tall and has little vegetation, but it is one of the four biggest nestling sites of the brown pelican
and is an overwintering site for the peregrine falcon.

The Negritos Islands are covered with semidecisious forest in which are found
many trees, arriving which are flor blanca, pochote and indio desnudo. The Pájaros is covered with the guísaro bush. The islands
also are rich in marine life including hermit crabs, oysters, conks and barnacles. The gulf and the island have dry climate and offer great scenic beauty.
