SKYWALK

Skywalk is a complex of suspended bridges, platforms and paths, built within the cloud
forest of Monteverde. These allow the observation of flora and fauna from
ground level all the way to the top of the trees. It is an unforgettable experience, the excitement of looking
to one side and seeing tops of the trees and the same time feel the sensation
of walking among the clouds Sky walk is ideal for professors, students
researchers, naturalist and the public in general.
What to bring: Camera, binoculars, jacket, hiking bouts, and repellent.
SKY TREK

Sky Trek gives you access to a world of incomparable beauty, tropical cloud forest
canopies. Through jumping, flying, and gliding, experience what it is like to
be and inhabitant of the canopy. You will never forget the Sky Trek experience,
which guarantees you 1317 meters of secure and comfortable sliding adventure.
What to bring: Camera, binoculars, jacket, hiking bouts, and repellent.
CANOPY TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
Located in the private reserve of the cloud forest lodge, it has 3 platforms, 2
traverses and a rappel. The tour starts with a short-guided hike through the
cloud forest and spectacular climb up a rope ladder through the middle of a
huge strangler fig. Once on the platforms you slide from platform to platform,
assisted by our expert guides, a then rappel back to forest floor. The
platforms vary in height from 20 meters to 33 meters above the forest floor.
The cloud forest generally has several layers to the canopy, which can all be
seen on the tour. The climate in the Monteverde area is generally warm to cool.
Shorts can be worn, but jeans are comfortable as well and hiking boots area a
good idea, as it rains frequently. Insect repellent, camera and binoculars are
also recommended.

HORSEBACK RIDING
Approximate pick up time: 8:00 a.m.
Enjoy our private farm!!! The length of the tour is approximately 3 hours. You will have chance
to see toucans, our waterfall and the charming little village of Canitas.
What to bring: Insect repellent, rain coat, Binoculars, camera.
MONTEVERDE RESERVE
Approximate pick up time: 07:00 a.m.
This reserve extends down both slopes of the Tilarán Mountains ( elevation
2300-2600 Mts.) Encompassing eight
different ecological life zones and protecting over 100 species of mammals, 400
of birds, and 1500 of plants. From
January to July, depending on your luck and patience, you may observe in their
natural habitat the resplendent quetzal, occasionally a dozen or more
individuals at once, the three-wattled Bellbird, the Emerald Tourconet, and
white face-Howler Monkeys. The trained eye of your guide will discern the track of some of the more timid
residents, or the animal itself quietly perched in the orchid and
bromeliad-laden green foliage.

QUIET TRAIL RESERVE
Approximate pick up time: 8:00 a.m.
“Sendero Tranquilo” is 200-acre private reserve nestled the Monteverde Cloud
Forest Reserve and Guacima River. This is a personalized, guided tour along
tranquil little-used paths through virgin forest.
Most animals and birds in the rainforest are shy and
secretive by nature, but your guide will discover the sings of their passing.
What to bring: Light clothes, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, hiking shoes.
Tour Descriptions Arenal
PEÑAS BLANCAS RIVER WHITE WATER RAFTING
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
This is the most adventure you can have in a half-day
tour!! Close to the magnificent, active Arenal Volcano. At just 30 minutes from
la Fortuna, the Peñas Blancas River is one of the last free flowing
rivers in Costa Rica. After a through paddle talk and explanation of the
equipment we are ready for the river. This section of the river has 20 class
III rapids to get you moving. Along the way we stop for a swim and to have some fruits.
What to bring: Appropriate shoes, light jacket, bathing suit or swim trunks, change of clothes,
towel, and waterproof camera.
ARENAL VOLCANO & HOT SPRINGS
Approximate pick up time: 4:00 p.m.
The Arenal Volcano is active since 1968, it constantly
ejects gases, water, fumaroles, and sometimes the eruptions are accompanied
with powerful thunders. The ashes are carried by the wind over long distances
especially to the northwest area of the volcano. The lava comes out of the
crater with a very high temperature and it cools off as it flows down. At the
Hot Springs enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak.
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, swimming suit, towel, and camera.
Dinner included.
ARENAL VOLCANO HIKING TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal
Volcano on a gentle Hike along the base of this marvelous “Mountain of
Fire”.
The Hike begins on the active side of the volcano that
takes you through the forest over recent lava flows and to the destroyed area
now in the process of regeneration.
What to bring: Hiking shoes, camera, binoculars, and raincoat.
CAÑO NEGRO WILDLIFE TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and the Rio
Frío, both biological humid areas, considered to be one of the richest
in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of
resident and migratory birds plus three different species of monkeys, also
iguanas, sloths, turtles and caymans. All “Nature Lovers” will have
a 4-hour floating safari through Tropical Rain Forest and pastures.
This trip includes a homemade box lunch, regional
fruits, soft drinks, natural juices, bottled water and cookies.
All served in the surroundings of the green country site.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
Specially for those who want to
go on a bike trip to the area where the forest, the Arenal Volcano and the Lake
meet and leads through a beautiful trail. The tour starts from the Arenal Lake
Dam, where we take an old trail into the forest, where we will have the chance
to see many different birds, for example: Squirrel Cuckoos, Keel Billed
Toucans, Crested Guans, Trogons, howler monkeys and raccoons. This tour will be
about four hours.
What to bring: Shorts pants, camera and sun lotion.
SAFARI FLOAT PEÑAS BLANCAS RIVER
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
Enjoy the sights and the sounds of the rainforest and experience its peacefulness as we quietly paddle the
Peñas Blancas River. Monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles and numerous
tropical birds await us! Our professional bilingual guide will share educational
and interesting explanations of the plants and animals we encounter on the
float. You will truly appreciate the wonders of Peñas Blancas River
without a motor.
What to bring: Short pants, t-shirts, sandals, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera and binoculars.
VENADO CAVE TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 08:00 a.m.
The caves were formed during the
Miocene period, 15 or 20 million years ago. For many years they were under sea level and due to tectonic
movements they surfaced. The Guatuzos aborigines discovered the caves. Limestone rocks, stalactites,
stalagmites and corals, form most of the caves.
The underground river forms the whimsical stone formations.
In the caves we will find marine fossils, and also bats, spiders and crickets.
We will walk through the river and waterfalls from the upper part of the cave.
What to bring: Hiking shoes and extra clothes to be able to change
when they finish the exploration of the caves.

WATERFALL HORSEBACK RIDING TOUR
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
Lets get inside the forest with our horses searching
for the beautiful waterfall 70 meters high. After some hours riding and
discovering the exuberant flora and fauna, have the opportunity to swim at the
“natural pool” at base of this majestic waterfall.
What to bring: Insect repellent, pants,
raincoat, binoculars, camera, swimsuit, towel.
TORO RIVER WHITE WATER RAFTING
Approximate pick up time: 07:30 a.m.
This is a highly technical section recommended only
for those with great deal of rafting experience. The first five miles are full
of exciting Class IV and Class III rapids. Along this section, you can see many
cliffs, beautiful falls, and lush tropical vegetation. After one hour on the
river, we will stop on one of its banks to eat tasty fruits of the region.
What to bring: Appropriate shoes, light
jacket, bathing suit or swim trunks, change of clothes, towel, and waterproof camera.
